I'm trying something a little different this week, as you can already tell. I wanted to "dress up" the newsletter, but didn't want it to get caught up in

So, I blended a little of both, and that brief email that brought you here was step one. This is step two.

FLW Tour Notes - Detroit River - Victor Second Place! Just 3 oz.!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The FLW Tour fished the Detroit River this past weekend. After Day 1 - and a new FLW Tour all time record for the day-one heaviest total catch - Victor led the field with 21-11.

Normally heading for Lake Erie, Victor fished Lake St. Clair on all four days and it paid off. Ultimately, he finished second, just three ounces behind winner Alvin Shaw.

The 2008 X-Series - Shenango Results & Pics Posted!

The X-Series bass tournaments are two events through, and just 35 points separates first place and 10th place.

Unlike the Berlin Lake event, where Bobby Nash was chewing his fingernails and had four cigarettes lit at the same time (he had the winning bag), the Shenango Reservoir event was won by over a 2.5# margin by Main and Murray - who also posted Big Bass with a 4.46#.

The complete results are posted for the first three events, and Current Points Standings are also updated. Oh, and I've got the photo galleries current too.

We have a couple of new boats on the website this week, including a new Stratos Ski-n-Fish plus a Ranger Z520 that is ready for you to customize with your choice of electronics.

We apologize to those of you who have been trying to get a hold of a new Starcraft Islander or FishMaster. These boats have been very difficult to find and obtain, and we have actually purchased boats from other dealers to get them in here. Thankfully, we are down to about a one or two week window of time until these boats hit the production line again.

The reason? Starcraft has moved their plant to an updated facility, and are just getting back into the swing of things.

Black cherry and silver 2003 Procraft 210 Super Pro, the Procraft flagship boat for years. Big power comes from a Mercury 225 Optimax, spinning a three blade stainless prop. On the bow, a MotorGuide Tour Edition 82# trolling motor with recessed pedal for all day fishing in any condition.

2001 Ranger 520VX Boats come in here all the time, but this is one of those special rigs. Honestly, it doesn't even look like the carpet has been walked on.

Dual console 2001 Ranger 520VX Comanche, powered by a dealer maintained 2001 Mercury 225 Optimax that received new spark plugs and a water pump in 2007. This boat is in great condition.

The Better Half Tour - Couples Only!

As many of you know, I fish bass tournaments with my wife. She didn't fish at all when she met me, but she's a quick learner and now does pretty darn well. I'm really proud of her.

That inspired me to ask who would be interested in a local couples tournament circuit, and I've had responses from about eight other couples who would like to get something like this started.

Not strictly the husbands and wives, but perhaps mother and son or father and daughter. Who knows...sister and brother - as long a there aren't too many breakables in the boat.

I think it is a great way to spend some time with someone you should. Quality time and the memories you'll smile about the rest of your life comes from spending time together. After all, it's not about the 'things' in life, it's about the people that you touch, love, and inspire.

Quality time can't be scheduled. Quality time is a result of the quantity of time you invest. You just never know when those special and magical moments occur. All they need is the opportunity to happen.

ONCE IS NEVER ENOUGH

Old car, marine, or lawn tractor batteries that are no longer good can be a pain to get rid of. Bring them up to the shop next time you visit, and I'll be glad to take them to a recycling center for you.

It helps us for better fishing, our health, and helps our kids appreciate the outdoors. And it's easy. It makes me feel better, as it helps preserve what we all love.

Recycling one aluminum can recovers over 96% of the energy and resouces needed to create one. That makes sense.

Please take the time and effort to recycle. Our continued good fishing, the environment, and our children and grandchildren deserve this consideration.
